Afternoon All
I'm sat in my pjs, with daytime tv on, a strong coffee and a mountain of paper; must mean its revision time! As usual Tinks (my cat) is trying to help me by repeatedly stealing my pens and flicking them under the sofa, I swear she wants me to fail my degree so she can have me home all the time.
I only have two exams this semester, which is so much better than normal. All my coursework has been handed in and I've done my viva for my dissertation. Can't quite believe I will be finished with university in just over a week, the past three years have felt never ending and it just won't sink in that I will finally be done with Southampton University; its no big secret that I haven't enjoyed university and have been looking forward to finishing from about the end of freshers week.
So back to all things Disney, I have a mountain of things to sort after the end of exams, trying to make a list so I don't forget anything. I've started making a list of what to pack (and might start the packing to procrastinate during revision), I have lots of silly things to buy like a padlock for the locker and suncream. I've booked my train tickets for my visa appointment, don't think I will fully relax until I get the visa back; I don't have any time for problems with it; also need to get some new passport photos for the visa. I haven't bought my dollars yet either, monitoring the exchange rate and hoping it picks up a little before I need to buy it. Also going to try and suspend my phone contract; people have managed it but Vodafone are very awkward about it!
While sorting all things Disney out I'm going to go home and visit my parents for a week, its been far too long since I've spent more than a few days with them and not had university work to do, so really looking forward to spending some time with them and also spending some time with my gorgeous niece; hopefully I'm going to go with her and Juliette to her music playgroup afternoon.
Well I don't think there's much else to say, revision has taken over so theres not much excitement at the moment. One last thing, I need to say a big sorry to my Dad, as some of you may have already realised I fly on the 19th June which is also Father's Day; so my poor Dad, on Father's Day, is having to get up far too early to drive me to Manchester; whoops sorry Dad!!!
Expect a super excited post next Tuesday night when my exams are over and the serious Disney preparation begins!!
Love

The Dissertation is handed in..
Heya all
So I can start getting really excited about Disney now; my dissertation (which has owned my soul for far too long) was handed in yesterday. So only a few pieces of coursework and two exams and I've finished my degree!
I celebrated the hand in of my dissertation by buying the new trainers I wanted for Disney. They are these snazzy barefoot technology trainers, meant to stop your feet aching and shin splints if your running in them. They should be ideal for Disney as they are meant for proper walkers, so no blisters or aching feet, but look cute unlike my normal hill walking boots.
Now that I can think about things over than programming a chip, some major Disney admin has been done. I booked my visa appointment, going on the 1 June; which is the day after my last exam so don't have to feel guilty about using up a day of revision but not exactly the way I'd like to celebrate the end of my degree.
I've just done the online part of the visa application; such an annoying website so many bugs in it, kept crashing on me so took way longer than it should. Also couldn't get the photo right, so after an hour of taking self portraits I've given in and will be off to a passport photo box tomorrow.
In the Easter break Kieran decided to spoil me and took my on a Disney shopping trip. I now have three sets of shorts, a new top and two bikinis; which is all I really needed for new clothes as I'm hoping to buy lots of new t shirts out there. He also took me for lunch and cocktails at my favourite restaurant, so although it does suck he works away he does make up for it when he's home!
Getting very excited/impatient now; Kieran has gone back to work after his Easter break so its just me and the cat until I go to Disney (other than one weekend in May) which I think is why I've suddenly gotten all impatient!
Well the countdown has really begun, so there will be lots more posts now. Expect a rant about the visa appointment and a panic about packing

Welcome pack excitement!!
So there's not been much in the way of Disney excitement for ages! Other excitement for me in the form of a rather sparkly engagement ring appearing in February!! So I've been just a little giddy, and have bought every wedding magazine there is, and created mood boards for every little detail of the wedding (the date has been set so have something to look forward to when I'm back in the UK this year). Between wedding planning and university I haven't had much time for all things Disney which does suck a bit; but need to do well with the degree so its had to take priority a while.
My Disney pack finally arrived last week, not quite as exciting as I had hoped it just has lots of information on sorting out the visa and a little Disney look book. My super blonde hair is now no more, even though at the interviews I was told the colour was fine, the little book specifically says no to extreme bleaching so didn't want to risk it! Boring hair is a small price to pay for going to work for the mouse though so all good; this also solves the worry of finding a hair salon in American that I'd trust to go near me with bleach.
As for visa applications, I've been putting this off as it sounds like such a pain to sort out and I really can't afford to waste a day in London with my third year project deadline looming... I'm going to try and sort it this Easter though so its out of the way before university starts up again and I start worrying about exams! I will be posting about all of that when its out of the way.
A few weeks ago I got an email from Hannah at Yummy Jobs describing my role, I was a bit surprised to see that Operations had been added to the description; I emailed back to double check if anything had changed or if it was an error. Hannah got back to me saying they were widening the options slightly at Disney, but if I really didn't want to do operations she could let Disney know and did I have any preference on where I'd work. Originally I hadn't intended on giving a preference as I was just glad to be going but seen as Hannah had asked I thought I may as well, so said I was more than happy to do an operations role if required, but if it was possible desperately wanted to work in Magic Kingdom (most likely along with every single other ICPer). So fingers crossed I get what a role in Magic Kingdom, I'm hoping that by just specifying a park rather than a particular ride I'm in with a good chance of getting what I want :)
Well, think that's everything Disney that's gone off since I last posted so back to project work...

The 50th Disney Animation...
Evening
I've just got back from the cinema; and no surprises I thought Tangled was amazing! It certainly isn't just another Disney Princess movie, there's lots of bits to make you laugh and characters that will appeal to boys (young and old). Disney have achieved their aim with the new princess, she is more modern with lots of girl power, and a good role model for girls as she is tough but with good values; I also think girls will be able to relate to some of the first scenes with Rapunzel and her "Mother".
Kieran was dragged along to see this movie and was also thoroughly impressed, this is a sign of how good the movie it is as he isn't quite the Disney geek I am.
I'm not going to give away any of the plot, but you have to go see it! It will make you smile and everyone should be childish once in a while :)

PS Here's a picture of pascal and Rapunzel, Pascal was probably my favourite character in the movie funny and cute!

Magic, Memories and You Premiere
Hi All
Ok so I was going to revise honest, but then I spotted this on you tube:Magic Memories and You Premiere. I was pretty dubious about this when Disney announced it last year so wasn't that excited about the premier...
Now I've watched it I can't believe how good is it! They've made a show out of the photos. The graphic projected onto the castle are amazing, literally so impressed with the effects, for example when they make it look like photos are bursting though the wall and bricks go everywhere, it looks so realistic and its just a projector (as far as I know).
I cannot wait to see this in the summer!!
Really off for revision this time

Fantasy Land Expansion
Hi All
There's been more details released about the expansion to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom (Details from an Imagineer)!! I'm hoping we will get to have a better look at the plans while we're out there! I think I'm most excited about the Be Our Guest Fine Dining Experience, it looks amazing!
I am disappointed that they have scrapped the idea of Pixie Hollow meet and greet; rumour has it that its possibly going to be built in Hollywood Studios which I don't think fits that well, surely Tinkerbell's home should be in Magic Kingdom!!
Right back to the revision...

Update
Evening All
Christmas and New Year was rather hectic with none Disney things and revision for the exams next week, so not much to report on the Disney front.
I have managed to book flights, after saying I am definitely going on a direct flight, I'm on the 9.50 flight from Manchester on the 19th June; and I'm changing in JFK. It was a lot cheaper and there's lots of people on the same flight so I shouldn't get too lost trying to find my way through the airport; I do feel sorry for anyone non-Disney on the flight as I have a feeling we're all going to be a little over excited!
Feels more real now its 2011 and I have my flights booked, I can actually believe that this year I will be actually be going. My parents and partner have also booked flights and a villa; I can't wait to take Kieran around Disney, he's been really great about me going on the program and I really want him to understand why it was so important to me.
I've been using Disney music as the soundtrack to, my revision, keep me focused on the fact I definitely can't have any resits as that would massively mess my summer plans up! Looking forward to the exams been over and then its only a few weeks to meeting up with some of the other people on the program up in Birmingham. Should be good to meet the people I have been talking to so much on facebook.
I have been wearing my Disney cast member hoodie loads, will probably be worn out by the time June comes around :P
The Front
The Back
I think that's all for now, there'll be more and more to talk about in the next few months
